The God Seed

Image
1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever.      The focus of our blog today deals with the subject of seed. Their are very many different kinds of seed in the earth today. The purpose of a seed is to reproduce whatever produced the seed. For example apple seeds come from the fruit of the apple tree. This means under the right conditions the  seed from the fruit of the apple tree will one day become another apple tree like the one the original fruit came from. If the first tree had red apples, then the tree that came from the original tree will also produce red apples. They both will share some if not all of the same characteristics that identify it as a red apple tree. The bible calls this method of reproduction seed after it's own kind, where the seed to produce another of the same kind is found in itself.      God created man with the same principle in mind. His original plan was to create ma

Dedicate A House For My Name

Image
2 Chronicles 7:16       For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there forever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.       Praise the name of the Lord sons and daughters of the most high God! Today is a very special day. Today is the day that we dedicate the temple of God. The word dedicate means to devote time, effort, or self to a particular task or purpose. The key here is that time, effort and self has been focused for a purpose. Our purpose today is to dedicate a house for the name of the Lord.      The bible says that king David purposed in his heart to build a house for the name of the Lord God of Israel. God downloaded to David the plans for the temple. When David saw the plan for the temple the first thing he started to do by the Spirit of God was to gather the materials that would be needed to complete this task. He began to gather all kinds of precious costly materials for the building of the temple. The bible goes into great

A Stranger In The Earth

Image
Psalm 119:19  I am a stranger in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.             The word stranger refers to a person who does not know or is not known in, a particular place or community. The bible says that before God formed us in the belly of our mother he already knew us. How long did God know us? Before the foundations of the earth was laid. This means that before the earth was, we were in God. This also means that before God formed Adam out of the dust of the earth we were in God. God knew us all before he breathed into the form that he created out of the dust of the earth and Adam became a living soul.  God who is Spirit put his Spirit into the earth and man came to life in the earth. The earth was the place God chose to assign man. It was his Spirit in man ( earth ) living and moving on the earth.      When man sinned he became separated from God. The ways of God were now strange and unfamiliar to man. The earth that God had created just for man had no

Strength In Perilous Times

Image
Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.      We live in a time that the bible calls perilous times. The word perilous means full of danger or risk. Anyone who is exposed to danger or risk over and over again will become weary. Over time constant exposure to perilous times will cause the soul and body to shut down. The bible says that even our young people will feel the effects of these perilous times. It says that even the young will grow weary and fall. From just hearing the daily news we know this to be true where we live and around the world. We who dwell in this world are being pressed from all sides and it makes us tired!     How do we find strength to press on in this world? The world system is designed by satan to kill, steal and destroy man. Therefore anyone who locks themselves into the world system seeking fulfillment becomes weary

Two Laws

Image
Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.      The bible in Romans chapter eight talks about two laws. Both of these laws came from the throne room of God with the purpose of directing the progress of man in the earth. The two laws effect what happens in the earth regardless if people acknowledge the existence of these laws. For example you can deny the existence of the law of gravity but you still are glued to the ground just like the rest of the people on this planet.  The law still effects you no matter what you think or feel about the law.      The exact same thing is true about the law of the Spirit life in Christ Jesus and the law of sin and death. Both laws are from God. Both have a specific purpose. It is important to acknowledge and explain  these laws because they have a direct impact on the life of man. People often wonder why certain things occur in life not realizing most things can be traced back to the e

Keep Yourselves From The Accursed Thing

Image
Joshua 6:18 And you, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest you make yourselves accursed, when you take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.      God told the nation of Israel that as they moved to take possession of the promised land to keep themselves from the accursed thing. God said that the accursed thing would cause the whole nation to be cursed. He also said that the curse would bring trouble to the whole nation. They were not to pick up anything that God said was cursed that belonged to the nations he was having  removed from the land because of their gross abominations.        That was then. This is now. God is still saying the same thing to us today. He is saying it because since the Garden of Eden all mankind has been living under the curse of sin. When Adam sinned the curse of sin cursed everyone. Sin is in our nature. Therefore our nature has been cursed by sin. This means sin is on the inside of every person t

What to do in times of distress.

Image
Psalm 120:1 In my distress I cried unto the Lord, and he heard me.       The word distress means extreme anxiety, sorrow or pain. I believe it is safe to say that we all have experienced in these days and times some form of distress. Extreme anxiety, sorrow or pain has almost become an everyday norm. The state of the world today is truly uncertain when you look to the world to bring you love, peace and joy. In fact it is the world that is the source of the distress that we feel.       The bible says that in this world there would be wars and rumors of wars. It says that kingdom shall rise against kingdom. It says that there will be earthquakes, famines and pestilences in different places in the world. All this is a true fact in this world. The bible also says that when you see all these things happening in the world today be not afraid for they are the beginning of sorrows. In other words they are the beginning of distress. It stands to reason if the source of distress is in the

See For Yourself

Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the man that trusts in him.      The word taste means to perceive or experience the flavor of something. In most cases taste is used to describe food or drink. This is what we say when we eat or drink something we like " Man that taste good." The distinctive taste of that food or drink is known as the flavor of that thing.        The bible says to taste and see that the Lord is good. One of the flavors of God is his holy goodness. To taste God's goodness means to experience his essential character. Essential means something that is absolutely necessary for something to be what it is.      The bible says that God is a Spirit. His Holy Spirit produces nine kinds of spiritual fruit. One of the fruits of the Spirit is goodness. The only way to experience God's true goodness is to allow the Holy Spirit to expose you to the true nature of God through Jesus Christ. This is how you taste or experience the esse

GOD PS 91

Image
PSALM 91:3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.      The bible calls covid-19 a noisome pestilence. Well what in the world is that? It is an evil calamity of life. As long as we live and breathe in this fallen world it is possible for these type of things to develop. This type of pestilence effects the entire world community . The door of fear that it opens up often times cannot be closed by man.       But thank the Lord that his wisdom is far beyond our wisdom. God knew these type of things would come upon the earth. This is why he put the cure for covid-19 and every other noisome pestilence in his word. But who has the time to proclaim God's word over what's going on in our busy lives today?       Wait a minute. Almost everything is closed! No job. No school. No bars and clubs. No sports and gambling. No restaurant dining. No dance. No gym. No church! Looks like we just may have some extra time on our hands. The on

Loose Lips

Luke 1:20  And, behold, thou shall be dumb, and not be able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believe not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.      This was part of the word of the Lord delivered to his servant Zacharias by the angel of the Lord Gabriel. The word that Gabriel delivered to Zacharias was in response to his prayer concerning a child that he and his wife Elisabeth desired.       They both were old and passed childbearing years. God chose them to be the parents of John the Baptist who was the man God chose to prepare his people to receive Christ. God sent Gabriel to Zacharias with the details of his answered prayer, but the man of God did not fully receive the word from Gabriel. There was some doubt in his response to God.      We must understand that some small doubt on our part does not cancel the plan of God for our life. God's plan for us will still come to pass. We just have to make sure that our doubt d
