Two Laws

Romans 8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

     The bible in Romans chapter eight talks about two laws. Both of these laws came from the throne room of God with the purpose of directing the progress of man in the earth. The two laws effect what happens in the earth regardless if people acknowledge the existence of these laws. For example you can deny the existence of the law of gravity but you still are glued to the ground just like the rest of the people on this planet.  The law still effects you no matter what you think or feel about the law.

     The exact same thing is true about the law of the Spirit life in Christ Jesus and the law of sin and death. Both laws are from God. Both have a specific purpose. It is important to acknowledge and explain  these laws because they have a direct impact on the life of man. People often wonder why certain things occur in life not realizing most things can be traced back to the effects of these two God given laws. 

     The first law is the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. This law has always been and will forever be in existence. All life is based on it. This Spirit law is in and given by the Son of God himself. The bible says it this way " All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life and the life was the light of men".

     This law is all about life. There is no death based in this law. Only life eternal can come from the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.  The standard of this law is that only life comes form the life of Jesus Christ.  

     By this law the Holy Spirit  through Jesus Christ transforms a life of bondage to sin into a life of freedom from sin. Jesus Christ is the life,  but the Holy Spirit is the one who gives the life divine direction. Jesus always followed the leading of the Holy Spirit. This law functions with Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit moving as one to create new life in the ones who give their life to Christ. Jesus saves our soul from sin and the Holy Spirit gives our saved soul direction.

      If we choose to live a life outside the law of the Spirit life in Christ Jesus then our life falls under the power of the law of sin and death. The law of sin and death has only been in force since the creation of the Garden of Eden. It was established by God to keep man in right relationship with him and the earth.

     This divine law kept the balance between the spirit and the natural. If obeyed the balance of right relationship between God and man was maintained in the earth. If this law was broken due to sin the right relationship between God and man would be lost. The result would be spiritual death first which is the separation of man from God. Then natural death which separates man from movement in the physical world. The law of sin and death requires the physical removal from the earth of those who break this law. Therefore man is cut off from God in both the spirit and the natural by death.

     The law of sin and death locks you into bondage. Bondage is the price you must pay for using sin. You get what you desire, but the cost for using the selfishness in your nature is slavery to eternal Death. Death is a spiritual being that has been given the power to lead Hell. The price for your sins are collected by them. See Revelation 6:8.

      The word says that the flesh is weak. The law of sin and death depends on weak flesh. Under this law we must  do the right thing all the time. In time the flesh will sin because it is in it's nature to do so. Those who are in the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, The flesh is weak, so the law of sin and death is weak because it depends on the weak flesh  to keep this law. Man has no hope living life under this law because man has a carnal mind. To be carnally minded is death because the carnal mind is against God. The carnal mind is not subject to the law of God and can never be because it operates opposite to the will of God. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

      The law of the Spirit life in Christ Jesus is not based on human flesh or a carnal mind. Jesus Christ is sinless, therefore  the law of sin and death can not effect him. If we position ourselves in Him, then it can not effect us either. We will have the same mind that is in Christ Jesus instead of our natural carnal mind. We will be more open to the Spirit then the natural flesh. If Christ be in us our body is dead because of sin but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. This Spirit law helps us to do right before God.

     So people of God we must be aware of these two laws. If we are to progress in the kingdom of God we have to know what law we are operating under. At least when God pulls us over we will know what our ticket is for. So saints lets just keep moving in Jesus name. Let his Spirit of life be the law we live by all the days of our life. Amen!

The law of the Spirit life in Christ Jesus cancels out the law of sin and death when we choose to live our life in Christ Jesus. This is a fact that is true no matter what one believes.
