The God Seed
1 Peter 1:23
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever.
The focus of our blog today deals with the subject of seed. Their are very many different kinds of seed in the earth today. The purpose of a seed is to reproduce whatever produced the seed. For example apple seeds come from the fruit of the apple tree. This means under the right conditions the seed from the fruit of the apple tree will one day become another apple tree like the one the original fruit came from. If the first tree had red apples, then the tree that came from the original tree will also produce red apples. They both will share some if not all of the same characteristics that identify it as a red apple tree. The bible calls this method of reproduction seed after it's own kind, where the seed to produce another of the same kind is found in itself.
God created man with the same principle in mind. His original plan was to create man in his own image. The bible says very plainly that God said "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness". This was the Father, Son and Holy Spirit coming together to put their seed inside a man that they formed out of the dust of the earth. When God breathed the breath of life into the dust, the dust became man a living soul with the God seed inside him. This was a first. Never before did any creation of God contain all three dimensions of God. This was and still is God's plan for man. Man will carry the seed of God so that every man that loves God will be filled with his glory. All the earth shall be filled with the glory of God. This includes man as well.
There are not enough words to explain the potential of the God seed. After all, who can know all there is to know about God. His seed is the same. What we can do is search the word of God to find what the Holy Spirit is saying to us today about the Holy seed of God and see some of the ways it affects all those who carry it.
The business of God is life. The God seed represents life. God is within the God seed to reproduce his life within the place where his seed has been planted. When God breathed into the dust, the dust became Adam. Adam was a living soul that contained the God seed. The seed that was in Adam was going to reproduce God's image and likeness in every human that was going to come through him. The only condition that could effect the God seed planted in Adam was his will to obey the plan of God for his life. Obedience to the word of God would cause the seed inside Adam to grow, but disobedience would cause it to be removed.
When Adam sinned, the Spiritual seed of God that was within him was exchanged for the physical or natural seed within the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. When he chose to eat of that fruit the seed of the knowledge of good and evil became the seed that Adam would transfer to every human through his nature. Man, because of the nature in him, would be living and walking in the natural instead of living and walking in the Spirit. Man was designed by God to be a Spiritual being living in a physical world. Adam exchanged the Spiritual for the natural.
Man would now have knowledge of good and evil inside him with no Spirit to govern how to use the knowledge. To have knowledge without understanding how it is to be used is death. We humans know good things, but how do we use them for our good. We also know evil things, but how do we not use them for our hurt and harm. This is why we sin because of this corrupt seed inside of us that produces all this knowledge of good and evil. This is why God instructed Adam not to eat of this fruit. God knew that once the seed of that fruit entered Adam he and all of his kind would surely die because of sin. Every sin we commit is because of some knowledge we receive and act on to satisfy our selfish nature.
Jesus Christ the Son of God came into the world to save us from our sins. How do you save a people that are born with the corrupt sin nature seed inside them? The answer is that we must be born again so that the corrupt seed can be replaced with God's incorruptible seed. God's seed is Spirit in nature. When we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we become new creatures born with the Spiritual seed of God within us. As a living soul we can now choose to relate with God on a spiritual level because we now have a spirit that allows us to communicate with him.
The Holy Spirit of God through the word of God connects with our born again spirit and begins to instruct us in the ways of God. This causes the God seed in us to grow and we become more like God as we yield to his ways. We grow in our relationship with him. We receive the knowledge of God and the Holy Spirit gives us understanding in the use of that knowledge.
The bible tells us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding. It also says in all our ways acknowledge God and he shall direct our path. True understanding and direction only comes after the God seed is active within you. All humans desire knowledge, but not all humans desire understanding. Knowledge can come in an instant, but understanding the knowledge received takes time. In this fast pace world people have no patience to get understanding of the things they know. They just react to information obtained through their physical or natural senses.
A person who has been born again must take the responsibility to water the God seed with the word of God. This watering only happens when time is spent seeking God in worship, prayer, praise, study and meditation of his word. God rewards those who seek him with understanding of the things that pertain to his relationship with them and their purpose in the earth.
My final comment today about the God seed is that this seed is an eternal seed. The God seed cannot die, it can only multiply. It is placed within you when you are born of God. It grows as you grow in your relationship with God. Even if your natural body dies the God seed remains because it is a part of your born again spirit. So it continues to grow in this life and the next. Because we received Christ he gave us power to become the sons of God. The power to become a child of God is in the God seed.
You are the children of the most High God. Do not forsake the God seed inside you. Seek God with all your heart and he will cause his seed inside you to grow in ways you could never dream of in this life. He is real. His seed inside you is real. His words about you are true and they are coming to pass as we speak. Even as you are reading these words right now God is causing a stirring in your spirit, soul and body to move in the new things he is calling you to in this new season of God life.
You know God is speaking to you, yes you right now! Just say yes by faith and allow him to direct your path. This is the day that the Lord has made! Allow the Holy Spirit to lead you and guide you through this day. The tests and the trails are just fertilizer for the seed in you. His word is the water.
The two together will cause growth. You will know you have grown by your testimony. So be strong and be of good courage because you are not alone. He is walking step by step right there with you right now! He was then and he is now. May God bless you coming in and going out this day and forever more in Jesus name Amen!
