The Spirit Driven Soul

Image
Luke 4:1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness.      Jesus was baptized by John in the Jordan river. The name Jordan means descending. He was baptized in the open for all to see. It was done in a humble place. At that moment Jesus was saying by his actions that he gave his heart and soul unto God the Father. In the open he freely yielded his soul to the Father. He gave his mind, will and emotions to the Father to use as he pleased. He did it to bring honor to God the Father.       The Father's response to this act was to send the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove that came and rested on Jesus. The Spirit did not just rest on his body, it rested on his entire being including his soul. This was a sign to all that the the Holy Spirit was in Jesus and that he was not acting alone.       At the same time that the Holy Spirit rested on Jesus the voice of the F...

Root

Image
Isaiah 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.      The basic meaning of the word ROOT is: a part from which other things grow and develop. It is the essential part of something. It is the base cause or source of something. When you think in terms of a natural plant the root is the part of the plant that grows downward into the ground to hold the plant in place. It also absorbs and stores what the plant needs to maintain or progress and grow.         For the most part the root is almost always hidden and unnoticed, but without the root there would be no plant. The same is true for those confessing to be children of God. Why? Because it is Jesus Christ who holds them in place and causes them to grow. It is because of his ...

How To Remove Darkness

Image
Ephesians 5:14 Wherefore he says, Awake you that sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.      Those that sleep and those that are dead have one common point that they share. That common point is darkness. The word says that this world and it's systems of control are covered in gross darkness. This darkness can be found in the hearts of those who are bound by the world. The darkness in their hearts is seen in the way they live and behave in the world.       The appearance of darkness can be deceiving. Darkness is not a color like black or white. It is a state of being that can be hidden behind the face of any color. If this is the case how can darkness be removed if it can't be seen? The fact is that true gross darkness is the opposite of true light. Therefore in order to remove gross darkness you first must know the true light.       True light is also a state of being. The only place tr...

The Way,The Truth And The Life

Image
Matthew 16:15-16 He said unto them, But whom say you that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.      Simon Peter was one of the disciples of Jesus Christ. But before he became a disciple of Jesus he was many things. He was a businessman. He was a faithful husband. He was a brother. He was a son. He was a friend. He was very busy, but his life did not have any meaning. All he had was an existence. All of his responsibilities did not fill the empty place inside his heart. He believed in God, but knew there was more to God. What was missing inside Peter was the Way, the Truth and the Life.       When Peter first saw Jesus he knew something about this man was different. We all who have come to Jesus have a similar story. We were busy involved in an existence we thought was life. We all had something missing inside our hearts. But when we really saw Jesus for the first time we knew he was dif...

Times of Transition

Image
Matthew 11:2 Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?      The basic meaning of the word transition is a change or passing from one to another. The one key factor in every transition is time. There is a set time for every transition to take place. God is the master of the time of transition. He knows the exact moment a change or passing should take place in order for maximum impact to occur for everyone effected by the transition.       Such was the case of the transition of the ministry of John the Baptist to the ministry of Jesus Christ. John was called by God to preach to the nation of Israel. His message was clear and simple. His voice cried out Repent You: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Prepare you the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. The message was for everyone with ears to hear.   ...

The Father's Life

Image
1John 1:2 For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us.      The life of our Father who is in heaven has always existed. He has no beginning and he has no end. This means our heavenly Father's nature is of an eternal nature. This means if you are a child of God you have access to his eternal nature. Why? Because children carry the traits of the parents naturally. Therefore the life that is the Father should begin to manifest in your every day life because you are his child. His characteristics and behavior should be a normal part of your every day life. Your life should be a living witness of his eternal life manifesting in you.       The word manifest means to be clear or obvious to the eye or mind. We know that the way to the Father is through his son Jesus Christ. When we accept the Son we accept the Father and become one w...
