The Spirit Driven Soul

Luke 4:1
And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness.

Jesus was baptized by John in the Jordan river. The name Jordan means descending. He was baptized in the open for all to see. It was done in a humble place. At that moment Jesus was saying by his actions that he gave his heart and soul unto God the Father. In the open he freely yielded his soul to the Father. He gave his mind, will and emotions to the Father to use as he pleased. He did it to bring honor to God the Father.
The Father's response to this act was to send the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove that came and rested on Jesus. The Spirit did not just rest on his body, it rested on his entire being including his soul. This was a sign to all that the the Holy Spirit was in Jesus and that he was not acting alone.
At the same time that the Holy Spirit rested on Jesus the voice of the Father was heard by all there saying Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. God the Father was saying that the same Spirit in me is in my Son and we are one. The same Holy Spirit in the Father was the same Holy Spirit in the Son. The will of the Father was now being transferred to Jesus constantly by the power of the Holy Spirit. This means that he was now full of the Holy Spirit. Now could he be led and even driven in the direction God the Father desired him go. His soul was now in direct connection with the Holy Spirit. His soul was now Spirit driven.
His soul now had constant power to take command of his body and drive his flesh in the direction God wanted it to go according to his plan and purpose. Because the flesh wants to go in a direction opposite of where God is going, it must be brought under the control of a Holy Spirit driven soul. Why? Because for us it is with our mind that we think. It is with our will that we choose. It is with our emotions that we express how we feel. If any part of our soul is in conflict with the plan of God, then the enemy can use it to disrupt God's good plan for our life.
The bible says that when God spoke to Moses concerning the negative behavior of the people, he would give instructions that must be done to cover the sin of a soul that had committed a sin against him. The point here is that God said action must be taken when a soul sins. This says that sin is birthed in the mind, will and emotions. Without a Spirit driven soul all we have is our natural mind, will and emotions. Our natural driven soul always follows the path of least resistance to fulfill our natural impulses. The soul driven by flesh keeps us searching for things without ever thinking about God.
The soul led by the Holy Spirit causes the flesh to worship and serve God. Your Spirit driven soul leads you to search for him and not his things. The way that you truly know if you are a child of God is that you allow his Holy Spirit to keep you walking in the ways of the Father. The Father's ways are the same ways exampled for us by his Son Jesus Christ. Our behavior becomes more Christ like. We must always remember for as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons (children) of God. May the good Lord bless us all to be more Christ like in the days, months and years we have left to serve him on this earth! Keep moving forward in Jesus Name! Bless you Lord! Amen!
