Ephesians 2:1 And you have he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins      The bible says that HE has quickened you. You being anyone who has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and savior. Quickened means to bring life to that which is dead.       Before Christ we were just dead people walking not in life but just having an existence. An existence based on fear. A fear that makes you under or over compensate everything. We hardly ever get things just right because this fear has been burned into our nature by the sin of our natural father Adam.      After he sinned God asked him where he was . His answer was I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid. Adam was already dead. Why? Because sin like death separates things that should not be separated. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire,and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. Often times after an intense fire only the foundation of the structure remains. If the foundation was built up to code, then a new structure can be built upon the original foundation.The foundation is the key to the structure. Therefore the more you know the foundation, the better you are able to build upon it. The bible says that for believers the Lord Jesus Christ is our foundation. Why? Matthew 17:5 While he yet spoke, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, hear you him.      This is the second time in the gospel accounts that a voice from heaven validated Jesus as the beloved Son of God. The bible says that in the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.  God himself used his voice to established Jesus as his beloved Son. God also established that he was well pleased with his Son.       On the mount of transfiguration Jesus had Peter, James and John as his witnesses of what happened that day. Psalm 66:12 Thou has caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and water: but thou brought us out into a wealthy place.      The bible says that God will prove you. If you are a son or daughter of the most high God, alive in the earth today, then let me say to you loud and clear; "IT IS ONLY A TEST"! But know this you are not alone! Ecclesiastes 10:18  By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through. Have you ever seen the movie Groundhog Day. It is a movie about a man who relives the same day over and over again with the same results each day. No matter how hard he tries, the day ends up the same! He has no forward progress. He ends up right were he started. Have you ever felt that way? I know I have! I believe most of us, if we are honest, have found ourselves in this position at some point in our lives. The bible calls this type of situation idleness. The basic meaning of the word idle is: To be groundless, useless or worthless. It's more than being lazy for a season. Idleness in a real sense is a way of life. This type of existence has no forward momentum. At the very best you stay the same. But in most cases over time you loose ground. Joshua 10:8 And the Lord said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.      In poker four kings is a very good hand. In the bible found in the book of Joshua chapter ten we find five kings who are a type and shadow of fear which is a very bad hand.The five kings were the kings of the Amorites. They were one of a group of people that God told the children of Israel to totally eject from the land of promise.       Amorite means mountaineer. Mountaineer is a person who lives in the mountain or inhabits a  high place. In the Old Testament an Amorite is a symbolic type meant to represent pride and arrogance. Pride and arrogance is a by product of deep rooted fear. A spirit of fear is what causes a person to trust themselves only.
