AN IDLE LIFE

Ecclesiastes 10:18
By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.

Have you ever seen the movie Groundhog Day. It is a movie about a man who relives the same day over and over again with the same results each day. No matter how hard he tries, the day ends up the same! He has no forward progress. He ends up right were he started. Have you ever felt that way? I know I have! I believe most of us, if we are honest, have found ourselves in this position at some point in our lives. The bible calls this type of situation idleness. The basic meaning of the word idle is: To be groundless, useless or worthless. It's more than being lazy for a season. Idleness in a real sense is a way of life. This type of existence has no forward momentum. At the very best you stay the same. But in most cases over time you loose ground. If we are idle in our relationships, health and money, we loose ground. If idle hands in a natural life can cause a natural house to drop through, just stop and think what happens when your spiritual hands are idle! No lifting of the hands in prayer. No praise and worship of the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. There is little or no movement in the Spirit. Then yes, the spiritual and the natural house is in decay. It is just a matter of time before both houses drop through into emptiness. Your house has become a barren and unfruitful place ruled by flesh. Flesh equals empty work. Idleness dose not mean you are not moving, it means your movement is of no use.  Like running in place when the goal is to cross the finish line a mile away.  So, what can be done to break free from this spirit of idleness? The answer is to replace empty work with prosperous fruit through addition and not subtraction.

2 Peter 1:5-8
And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound ( abundant ), they make you that you shall neither be barren ( idle ) nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The total sum of all this is that in Christ there is progressive fruit of the Spirit that is never idle. Outside Christ there is nothing but empty work of the flesh. If you are not in Christ, get in by accepting him as your Lord and Savior right now! If you are already in Christ, then add to your faith the things of 2 Peter to stay productive and progressive in him. You will never be idle again in Jesus name amen and amen!

Lord thank you for a special blessing on all our brothers and sisters thru out the earth. Let progressive movement take place in every area of their lives! We lift up Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Peru, Vietnam, Germany, and France, extra grace and mercy be on them this week! Major doors opened Father for your children in these countries in Jesus Name Amen!

Stay blessed and keep moving forward in the name of Jesus.
