The Spirit Driven Soul

Image
Luke 4:1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness.      Jesus was baptized by John in the Jordan river. The name Jordan means descending. He was baptized in the open for all to see. It was done in a humble place. At that moment Jesus was saying by his actions that he gave his heart and soul unto God the Father. In the open he freely yielded his soul to the Father. He gave his mind, will and emotions to the Father to use as he pleased. He did it to bring honor to God the Father.       The Father's response to this act was to send the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove that came and rested on Jesus. The Spirit did not just rest on his body, it rested on his entire being including his soul. This was a sign to all that the the Holy Spirit was in Jesus and that he was not acting alone.       At the same time that the Holy Spirit rested on Jesus the voice of the Father was heard by all there saying Thou art my beloved

Root

Isaiah 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.      The basic meaning of the word ROOT is: a part from which other things grow and develop. It is the essential part of something. It is the base cause or source of something. When you think in terms of a natural plant the root is the part of the plant that grows downward into the ground to hold the plant in place. It also absorbs and stores what the plant needs to maintain or progress and grow.         For the most part the root is almost always hidden and unnoticed, but without the root there would be no plant. The same is true for those confessing to be children of God. Why? Because it is Jesus Christ who holds them in place and causes them to grow. It is because of his righteousness that we through him are a

How To Remove Darkness

Image
Ephesians 5:14 Wherefore he says, Awake you that sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.      Those that sleep and those that are dead have one common point that they share. That common point is darkness. The word says that this world and it's systems of control are covered in gross darkness. This darkness can be found in the hearts of those who are bound by the world. The darkness in their hearts is seen in the way they live and behave in the world.       The appearance of darkness can be deceiving. Darkness is not a color like black or white. It is a state of being that can be hidden behind the face of any color. If this is the case how can darkness be removed if it can't be seen? The fact is that true gross darkness is the opposite of true light. Therefore in order to remove gross darkness you first must know the true light.       True light is also a state of being. The only place true light can be found is in the being of Jesus Christ. There
