From Everlasting to Everlasting

 Psalm 90:1-2

Lord, thou has been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting thou art God.

The bible says that all generations have had the Lord available as a dwelling place. This means all generations prepared by the most high God have the choice of choosing to dwell and abide with him. Everything that is known or unknown came from God. Everything came from inside of him. This means that everything at one time had God as a dwelling place. We all had our place in God. He created us to have a place with him. Before this world was created by God we all existed in God. Before heaven was created all the beings in heaven existed in God.

When God created heaven and earth he chose to place created beings in both places.  The key hear is that he decided where his creations would exist. He put them in a place where they would have the ability to live life to the fullest forever. He also gave us a will to want to be in our assigned place. Yes, we have been given a will from God that gives us choice.

Why is choice so important to God? Why should he care what his creation thinks about where he has placed them? I believe God cares because he loves his creation. Anyone who really loves someone, cares what choices that someone makes. Anyone who loves someone wants them to be where they are. They want that someone out of a free will, to chose to be in the same place they are. They are truly  there, just because the other someone is there. They are not with the other person because of some physical need. They are really not with the other person because of some emotional need. They are not with the other person because of what the other person can do for them. The will inside their soul says no matter what, this is where I want to be, and nothing or no one can change that decision.

God has always planed to dwell with his creation. His desire is for his creation to want to dwell with him. Let us be very clear, God does not need anyone to exist. For his pleasure he chose to create. The communion of God and his creation was to produce a pleasurable dwelling place forever.

The atmosphere generated in the presence of God is one of righteousness, love, peace and untold joy. To dwell with God opens up this type of atmosphere forever because God is eternal and so is his creation. Our relationship with God is an eternal one. This is another reason why choice is so important. Our choice to except or deny God is an eternal choice that is binding forever.

God has allowed this earth to be the place where we make our choice to be eternally in or out of his dwelling place. It is here on this troubled earth that we are put to so many tests and trials that deal directly with or eternal relationship with God. It is at this point of choosing how to respond to the testing and the trying do we move closer or further away from him. It is important to always remember that this earth in the state it is in right now is not our home. It is just a temporary place to work out our eternal salvation and advance the kingdom of God.

Forever means from everlasting to everlasting. It means never ending. If we chose to live outside of God, then we are choosing a limited existence forever and not an abundant life. Life outside of God equals an eternal death. God says "I set before you life and death." Then he says "choose life." Life must be taught. Death comes naturally in this world. Only the creator of life can teach you how to live an abundant life forever. Yes, we must learn how to live an abundant life. We cannot learn on our own, we must be taught!

This is why all generations have a chance to know God. They all have the chance to learn and operate in his wonderful ways. Most of all they have the chance to learn to live with him in this life. The fact is abundant life begins when we choose Jesus Christ as our Lord. It is only through the Lord Jesus Christ can we learn of the Father and be lead by the Holy Spirit into the way of eternal life in the house of God. When I say the house of God I am not talking about a natural building, I am speaking of God himself living within us. When we receive Jesus as Lord, we become the temple or house of God. When we learn of Christ, the soul inside of us finds rest preparing a place inside or hearts for God to dwell.

With God living in our temples, there are some things we should understand. God is dwelling with us because he desires to teach us so that we may progress in him. He wants us by design to apply our hearts to the wisdom taught by him. He gives us his mercy one day at a time so that we may be glad in the things that we learn in the day he has given for us to dwell with him.

God is our source of peace on the inside because our flesh is in the physical world. Our flesh is what reacts to the afflictions that come from being in this world. The evil we see can have a negative effect on our soul. God living in us guards our soul from the effects of this evil.

With God in us, his glory will be seen on us. This means that it will be seen by all those around us. Most of all, with God dwelling with you, he will establish the works of your hands even  in this life giving you identity and purpose with a plan. Purpose with a plan is the desire of all humans moving in this earth. Only dwelling with God can your true purpose and plan for your life not only be known, but also lived out.

So all of you reading this message today trust and believe what God has said concerning your life. It is the truth and the truth will make you free this day and form everlasting to everlasting in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. May the wisdom of the Lord keep you all the days of  your life. Amen.
