Ear To Hear ( Pt.7 ) The Faithful And True Witness

Revelation 3:14
And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things say the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God.

This is the final blog of the Ear To Hear series. It is fitting that the voice of Christ represented in this last segment is the voice of the faithful true witness and the Amen. True justice only comes from the testimony of a faithful and true witness. To often in this world system the privileged create their own brand of justice that is based on wealth and position not truth. In most cases truth produces freedom. God says the truth will make us free. Injustice is false truth that creates bondage.
Justice in it's basic form deals with fairness. Justice is impartial and just treatment or behavior without favoritism or discrimination. The kingdom of God is based on this kind of behavior. God is no respecter of persons. God is not moved by your social status, he is moved by the condition of your heart. An unjust heart is frozen because it does not feel any kind of need for change. Those that have ears to hear what the Spirit of God says will allow their frozen hearts to be thawed out.
Jesus brought the gospel to the Jews first. The leaders of the Jews at that time had been given positions of power by the Roman government. They did not want to loose their positions so they favored any position that would please the Roman government, even if it was unfair to their own people. Their hearts were frozen. They pretended to be on fire for God so that they could control the people. Over time they even convinced themselves that they were doing the right things and that their self righteous behavior pleased God. They believed their own lies and would do anything to keep their status.
The natural progression of the gospel challenges people on every level of human existence to embrace the love of God by being fair and just with one another. We are to treat people the way we want to be treated to demonstrate the love of God. This is a simple concept, but hard to do because of our selfish sin nature. Self wants to satisfy itself first and then maybe someone else.
The church of Laodicea was established by the sound of Christ's words in their ears. They knew his word to be faithful and true. They knew that his word was at the beginning of the creation of the world. Most of all they knew his word to be the official so be it or the Amen. They understood that the word of God if put into use could cause an increase of life. But after a short time all they cared about was an increase in natural goods and not spiritual growth. They declared they were rich because of the increase of natural things. They also declared that they did not need anything, including God because they were rich in goods. They felt no need to be helped or any need to help others and in doing so justice was on their side. They were blind to true justice. They were opposite of what their name declared them to be because the name Laodicea means People of Justice. Of all the seven churches they had the most natural wealth and yet that did little or nothing to help advance the kingdom of God. They justified themselves, but Christ declared them wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked on the inside of their heart.
Christ was a faithful and true witness to them concerning the true nature of their heart. He gave them the truth concerning their lukewarm response when it came to kingdom purpose and advancement. Christ gave them faithful and true counsel on how to turn things around in their heart. Through him they could receive pure gold tired in the fire. They could be given white robes that would never wear out to cover their nakedness. They would receive healing of the eyes so they could truly see the vision of God. All this could truly be theirs if they received the loving rebuke of Christ and repented of their unjust ways. If they allowed Christ to chasten them, then a door to the kingdom of God would be opened. Then Christ could have given them the Amen. The so be it that would have given them kingdom of God status forever.
The love of Christ has positioned him at the door. What door does he stand before? The door to every human heart. He knocks at the door of our hearts with a just knock. With a knock that our ear can hear. We can choose to hear the knock and open the door or choose to ignore the knock of everlasting life. If we open the door, Christ said he will come in to us. He has given his word to come into an everlasting relationship with us.
Children of God, don't let the sound of things cancel out the sound of his just knock. He has come not only to save you from your sins, but he has also come to fill you with life. Have an ear to hear the progressive voice of Jesus Christ that comes to the door of your heart daily to take you to a new place in him and his kingdom. If you do, not only will you overcome, but you will also be granted to sit with Christ in his throne. So ears wide open guys to the voice of Christ. Only he can make us perfect and complete. Hear what the Spirit of God is saying to us all!

Revelation 3:14-23

Jesus spoke to seven different churches in seven ways so that we all may become perfect and complete. If you hear the words he speaks then take his hand and live the life he represents.
